VERICUT News – Q3 2014

It’s hard to believe the first half of 2014 is already gone. Following is a brief summary of a few things we’ve been working on.

Join us at IMTS in booth E-3346
More than 100,000 people attend the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) to get ideas and find answers to their manufacturing problems. If you attend, please visit our booth to learn what’s new with VERICUT software. Also, don’t miss our conference presentation – Using Simulation Software to Achieve True “Lights-Out” Machining – on September 8 at 3:15pm.

More free “Quick Start” training sessions
We are currently offering “Quick Start” training video sessions for users of CATIA by Dassault Systems, NX CAM by Siemens PLM Software, Creo Parametric by PTC, Mastercam by CNC Software, GibbsCAM by Cimatron, Esprit by DP Technology, Edgecam and Surfcam by Vero Group, and hyperMILL by Open Mind. The sessions, currently available at no cost to current customers, have been designed to quickly teach a new VERICUT user the fundamentals of running a VERICUT simulation by utilizing one of several available VERICUT CAM Interfaces. North American VERICUT user group meetings wrap up
Each year, CGTech hosts many VERICUT Users’ Exchange (VUE) events. In 2013, over 1,300 VERICUT users attended more than 40 VUE events in 15 countries. Twenty-two North American VUEs have been held in 2014, and we’re reviewing the surveys while beginning preparations for 2015. If you have any suggestions for next year’s VUEs – locations, venues, etc. – please contact us.

Upgraded user forum
The VERICUT user forum has recently been upgraded to streamline the user experience and improve overall performance. The forum is intended to be an open communication medium dedicated to education and idea exchange between anyone interested in realizing the benefits of increased CNC accuracy and efficiency. Although sponsored by CGTech with a focus on VERICUT software, it is not intended to be an advertising tool. Available at

CGTech on the team selected to lead the DMDI Institute
Earlier this year, the President of the United States announced the selection of the winning team to lead the DMDI Institute, a consortium led by UI Labs and consisting of a world-class team of more than 70 organizations from industry, government and academia. The DMDI Institute will address the life cycle of digital data interchanged among many design, engineering, manufacturing and maintenance systems. Learn more at

Integration with Kennametal’s NOVO coming soon
Online catalogs and tool selectors have become common options for manufacturers looking for the latest tool solutions for their production process. NOVO goes far beyond the concept of the online catalog by integrating Kennametal’s application engineering and production experience. As a result of the CGTech-Kennametal partnership, users can directly download a Kennametal tool assembly and use it within VERICUT software.
