VERICUT News – Q3 2015

While it remains a balmy 90 degrees here in Southern California, summer will soon be a distant memory for most of you. With fall now upon us, we thought it would be a good time to update you on some of the things we’ve been working on, thanks largely to air conditioning.

VERICUT 7.4 Shipped this Month
In case you missed it, download instructions were recently sent to on-maintenance customers. Feedback from early adopters has been great, especially with regards to the redesigned tool manager. Check out some of the new features here.

We Are Hiring!
We’ve been fortunate to benefit as NC verification becomes a common (often required) process across most industries utilizing CNC equipment. PLM strategic consulting and research firm CIMdata, Inc. even recently released a report highlighting our growth. As a result, we need to fill several positions. View them here. If you know anybody that might be a good fit, please let us know!

New Module: Force Milling
A new module for optimizing tool path feed rates is available. Force uses material properties associated with the workpiece and cutting tool material, plus cutting edge geometry and VERICUT’s simulated cutter contact conditions to predict cutting forces and chip load. Wondering how it differs from OptiPath optimization techniques? Click here to learn more.

Learn What Others are Doing
Several customers have been kind enough to take the time to share how they use VERICUT. For example, before any new job is sent to the shop floor, Micro-Mechanics (Morgan Hill, CA) team members gather for a review session in which each engineer presents his or her own work on a big screen and walks the other team members through a detailed analysis of each aspect of the setup. This gives everyone a chance to discuss the decisions made while engineering the job, explore new ways of doing things and possibly learn from one another’s mistakes. As a result, everyone’s NC programming skills have improved. Check our website often for new stories; several more are planned for Q4. And please contact us if you are interested in sharing your story.

Buying a New CNC Machine?
Join us for a Modern Machine Shop hosted webinar on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM PST titled, “Be Ready to Produce Production Parts Prior to New CNC Machine Delivery.” NC simulation software can significantly shorten the time it takes to get a new CNC machine making production parts. CGTech Technical Support Engineer Barry Kennemer will show you how. For more information and to register for the webinar please click here. By registering you will also get access to a recording of the event.

Lots of new Videos
We continue to update our YouTube channel to organize many simulation examples. You will find videos organized by machine tool builder, CAD/CAM interface overviews, composite applications, and more. If there is something specific you would like to see, please let us know!
